About the Tour
The small state of Kerala, which represents just 1% of the landmass, is considered to be one of India`s most beautiful states. It is a very rural state with most of the population living in villages but is culturally and scenically diverse. The people of Kerala are warm and friendly and interaction with them is often a highlight of a holiday to Kerala. Keralites have a span culture and are fiercely proud of their state.

Day 1: Arrive Cochin
Upon your arrival at Kochi International airport, you will be met by our office airport representative. After a warm welcome at the airport, you will be driven to your pre-booked hotel and our representative will assist you in check-in formalities. Later on, rest time free at leisure or to explore nearby (own).
Day 2: Day sightseeing in Cochin
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a city tour of Cochin, which starts with Mattanchery Palace, built by the Portuguese (1557) as a gift for the Raja of Kochi in exchange for trading rights, it was largely rebuilt by the new occupants, the Dutch. Then visit Jewish Synagogue adjacent to the Palace. This gem of a synagogue dating from 1568 (rebuilt in 1662) at the heart of what is called locally Jew Town, now a fascinating mixture of shops (some selling antiques), warehouses and spice auction rooms.
Later on, drive to Fort Kochi beach area to visit St. Francis Church originally dedicated to Santo Antonio, the patron saint of Portugal, St. Francis Church is the first to reflect the new, European influenced tradition. Our final visit will be too huge Chinese Fishing nets line the entrance to the harbor mouth. Chinese traders are believed to have originally introduced them in the late 14th century although, today, parts of the nets are known by Portuguese names. Evening drive to watch live Kathakali Dance performance. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Cochin – Munnar (140kms/ 4 hrs approx)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Munnar. On the way enjoy some waterfalls and natural scenic spots (Stopover). On arrival at Munnar check-in into Hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight stay at the hotel will be arranged.
Day 4: Full day sightseeing in Munnar
After breakfast spends the day with local sightseeing. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 Meter above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing of Munnar includes a visit to Rose Garden, Photo Point, Honey Tree, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundale Lake. Afternoon proceed to Rajamalai were the rarest species of mountain goat, "Nilgiri Tahrs", can be spotted. Overnight stay is arranged at Munnar.
Day 5: Munnar – Thekkady (Periyar) (110kms/ 4 hrs approx)
After breakfast at the hotel, proceeds to Thekkady which offers diverse attractions like Wildlife Sanctuary, Hill Station and Spice Plantation. Natures own little hideout nestled in the hills of Thekkady. Reach & check-in at the hotel. Evening free at leisure to explore the natural beauty. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Sightseeing in Thekkady (Periyar)
Breakfast at the hotel explores Periyar National Park by boat cruise. The forests are rich in birdlife and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur, and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake.
Explore the park by hiking through the buffer zone of the forest with the tribal trackers as a local guide from the forest department. We return from our hike at 08.00hrs and back to the hotel for breakfast. Further, make a short drive to nearby plantations to know more about the spices of Kerala and the plantation crops. Evening again explores the sanctuary which offers a lovely and comfortable way to see the animals via boat rides on the man-made lake, which the wildlife area encircles. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Drive Thekkady – Kumarakom (125 kms / 4.5 Hours )
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom. Check in to the hotel. Afternoon proceeds for local sightseeing in and around Kumarakom - a tiny backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu Lake. The stretch of backwater is spread over 900 sq. km. Choose a canoe, motorboat or a houseboat and devour the beauty of this backwater paradise at its best. Overnight stay is arranged in Kumarakom.
Day 8: Day in Kumarakom
After breakfast at the hotel, Embark your drive to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Immerse into the natural beauty as you see all colors of birds painted with painstakingly working by God himself. Later on, move to St. Mary’s Church, built by Thekkumkoor Maharajah in the year 1579, it’s a perfect architectural blend of Kerala and Portuguese style – the basilica theme, beautiful murals, and the Gothic paintings. The next place is Bay Island Drift Museum. It’s the place that showcases a large collection of superior driftwood articles – unique in their own sense.
Then, we will take you to the Pride of Kerala – “Kettuvallam Houseboat”. Here enjoy the afternoon in the backwaters as we serve you fresh Freshwater fish and other South Indian delicacies onboard. You can even try hands or two or simply watch as the cook on the houseboat prepares dishes for you. In the evening after a cup of hot south Indian filter coffee on – board, we will take you back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Drive Kumarakom – Kovalam
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and drive to Kovalam. Upon arrival check-in at the resort and rest day free and easy to relax on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Beach stay in Kovalam
Breakfast at hotel day free and easy to relax on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Beach stay in Kovalam
Breakfast at hotel day free and easy to relax on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Departure transfer
Breakfast at the hotel as per flight schedule transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
