While its melange of human cultures has long drawn the attention of historians and travelers, its wild habitats rich with exotic animals offer rare treasures for those who are passionate about nature. This comprehensive safari gets you far away from India's intense cities and into its natural realm, a landscape of powerful rivers, fabled jungles and intriguing wildlife. From Bandhavgarh to the Brahmaputra Basin, this is the native territory of the Bengal tiger, whose numbers are on the rise again after a century of decline.

Day 1:    Arrive Delhi
Upon your arrival at Delhi International airport, you will be met by our office airport representative. After a warm welcome at the airport, you will be driven to your pre-booked hotel and our representative will assist you in check-in formalities. Get some rest or explore the city by walk. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:    Full day sightseeing in Delhi
Today morning after breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to start your excursion with Qutub Minar, it’s named after Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the first Sultan of the Mamluk Dynasty, This is the victory tower of Mughal, which indicated the beginning of Muslim rule in India. Visit Humayun's tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, Persian architects chosen by her. 

Then drive to visit India Gate, it was built to commemorate the death of India soldiers, who were killed in the North West Province during the First World War and the Afghan Conquest of 1919. Later visit President House, The official residence of the President of India. Drive pass Parliament Street and move to Connaught Place for Lunch. From here you will head to Jama Masjid, it was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656, Jama Masjid is one of the biggest Mosques in India. Drive pass Red Fort and move the head towards Laxmi Narayan Temple located in the heart of Delhi, also known as the Birla Mandir, this beautifully decorated Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi. Then drive to Lotus Temple, a lotus-shaped outline has etched itself on the consciousness of the city's inhabitants, capturing their imagination, fueling their curiosity, and revolutionizing the concept of worship. Evening drive back to the hotel for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Flight Delhi – Jabalpur (SG 2871)  |  Drive Jabalpur – Bandhavgarh National Park (165 kms / 4 Hrs)
Today morning you will be transferred to Delhi airport to board a flight for Jabalpur.  Upon arrival at Jabalpur, embark your drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. An essential stop on any serious safari, Bandhavgarh is renowned for one of India’s highest concentrations of magnificent Bengal tigers. Originally established as a national park in 1968, Bandhavgarh has declared a protected tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1993. At 444 square miles, it is a relatively small park with a thriving tiger population, offering guests a good chance of encountering them, as well as other wildlife distinctive to India. Check-in and overnight stay at the resort. 

Day 4: Safari inside Bandhavgarh National Park
Today, we explore Bandhavgarh’s varied habitats on morning and afternoon wildlife safaris. Predominantly covered with sal and mixed deciduous forest, thickets of bamboo and expansive grasslands that line the stream valleys, the park’s hilly terrain harbors one of the highest densities of tigers in the world. With tigers at the apex of the food chain, Bandhavgarh’s rich biodiversity includes a multitude of other wildlife. We will hope to see a sampler of its 37 mammal species, among which are a leopard, jungle cat, civet, wild boar, sambar, spotted deer, muntjac (barking deer), sloth bear and Asiatic jackal. If we're very lucky, we might even spy dhole (wild dog). Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 5: Safari inside Bandhavgarh National Park
Today, we explore Bandhavgarh’s varied habitats on morning and afternoon wildlife drives. Predominantly covered with sal and mixed deciduous forest, thickets of bamboo and expansive grasslands that line the stream valleys, the park’s hilly terrain harbors one of the highest densities of tigers in the world. With tigers at the apex of the food chain, Bandhavgarh’s rich biodiversity includes a multitude of other wildlife. We will hope to see a sampler of its 37 mammal species, among which are a leopard, jungle cat, civet, wild boar, sambar, spotted deer, muntjac (barking deer), sloth bear and Asiatic jackal. Day 6: Drive Bandhavgarh / Kanha National Park & Tiger Reserve (245 kms / 6 hrs)
Today, continue your drive to Kanha National Park. The park covers 750 square miles of rich and varied wildlife habitat. Its lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous collection of stories in The Jungle Book. Kanha was established as a national park in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under India's Project Tiger. The park's landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare barasingha, an endangered swamp deer with 12-point antlers, saving it from near-extinction. Check-in hotel and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 7: Safari inside Kanha National Park
Today spend your day in search of Bengal tigers and other wildlife on excursions in open vehicles. Scenic Kanha, once a hunting ground for imperial rulers and viceroys, is now one of India’s most important conservation reserves. With ideal habitat for tigers and their prey, it offers some of India’s best tiger viewing, though it can take effort to locate them in the sun-dappled scrub forest that provides superb camouflage for many species. Greet dawn each day with an early wildlife drive, entering the park just as the sun’s rays break over the jungle. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 8: Safari inside Kanha National Park
Today spend your day in search of Bengal tigers and other wildlife on excursions in open vehicles. Day 9: Drive Kanha – Raipur (225 kms / 5 Hrs)   |   Flight Raipur – Kolkata
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Raipur airport to board a flight to Kolkata. 
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel for overnight stay (next to the airport). 

Day 10: Flight Kolkata – Guwahati (AI 729)  |  Drive Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park (193 kms – 5 Hrs)
Today fly from Kolkata to Guwahati, Upon arrival lunch at a local restaurant and continuing by road into far-eastern India, we reach Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The park, which borders the sacred Brahmaputra River, was created in 1926 as a refuge for the one-horned rhinoceros. Once hunted nearly to extinction, today this 2-ton beast is a conservation success story, rebounding to more than 1,600 individuals. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 11: Safari inside Kaziranga National Park
Today morning and afternoon drives reveal Kaziranga’s diverse habitats—a mix of elephant grass, thorny rattan cane, tracts of semi-evergreen forest and shallow marshes. Stretching from the banks of the Brahmaputra River to the dense forests of the Mikir Hills, the reserve boasts an impressive variety of wildlife. In addition to one-horned rhinoceros, keep a close eye out for buffalo, elephant, wild boar, hog deer, hoolock gibbons, sloth bears, and pythons, as well as the elusive Bengal tiger. The national park has been declared an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International and is home to a great variety of resident and migratory birds. Overnight at the resort.

Day 12: Safari inside Kaziranga National Park
Today morning and afternoon drives reveal Kaziranga’s diverse habitats—a mix of elephant grass, thorny rattan cane, tracts of semi-evergreen forest and shallow marshes. Stretching from the banks of the Brahmaputra River to the dense forests of the Mikir Hills, the reserve boasts an impressive variety of wildlife. In addition to one-horned rhinoceros, keep a close eye out for buffalo, elephant, wild boar, hog deer, hoolock gibbons, sloth bears, and pythons, as well as the elusive Bengal tiger. The national park has been declared an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International and is home to a great variety of resident and migratory birds. On our final evening, revel in memories of our Indian safari adventures as we gather for a farewell dinner.

Day 13: Drive Kaziranga – Guwahati (193 kms – 5 Hrs) | Fly Guwahati – Delhi (AI 892)
After breakfast, drive to Guwahati to catch our afternoon flight to Delhi. Day rooms have been reserved for the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure, with a transfer included to the international airport to meet departing flights later this evening.

Please Note: National parks in central India are closed on Wednesday afternoons. Should a portion of our visit to Kanha or Bandhavgarh fall on a Wednesday, we will have alternate afternoon activities planned in place of a wildlife drive.
