About the Tour

Small yet beautiful, located in the eastern Himalayas and spreading all around the famous Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest mountain, Sikkim is many people’s fascination to serve grand spiritual beauty. The Dzongri- Goechala Trek in Sikkim is the most demanding trek for the rugged players that takes them towards Goecha La from Yuksom to Dzongri and brings the outstanding views of Kanchenjunga. Dzongri, which is located at an altitude of about 4020 m in west Sikkim; brings the trekker a most fascinating close-up view of Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim.

Day 1:    Arrive Delhi
Upon your arrival at Delhi International airport, you will be met by our office airport representative. After a warm welcome at the airport, you will be driven to your pre-booked hotel and our representative will assist you in check-in formalities. Get some rest or explore the city by walk. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:    Full day sightseeing in Delhi
Today morning after breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to start your excursion with Qutub Minar, it’s named after Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the first Sultan of the Mamluk Dynasty, This is the victory tower of Mughal, which indicated the beginning of Muslim rule in India. Visit Humayun's tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, Persian architects chosen by her. 
Then drive to visit India Gate, it was built to commemorate the death of India soldiers, who were killed in the North West Province during the First World War and the Afghan Conquest of 1919. Later visit President House, The official residence of the President of India. Drive pass Parliament Street and move to Connaught Place for Lunch. From here you will head to Jama Masjid, it was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656, Jama Masjid is one of the biggest Mosques in India. Drive past Red Fort and move the head towards Laxmi Narayan Temple located in the heart of Delhi, also known as the Birla Mandir, this beautifully decorated Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi. Evening drive back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3:   Flight Delhi – Bagdogra  | Drive Bagdogra – Darjeeling (90 kms / 3 Hrs)
Today transfer to Delhi airport to catch flight for Bagdogra. Meet our office representative, assistance and drive to Darjeeling, check-in at the hotel. Evening free for rest and acclimatization.
Afternoon visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Ropeway viewpoint, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), and a Tea Garden to witness the manufacturing of world-famous Darjeeling Tea. Evening walk around the colorful historical Gundri bazaar of Darjeeling now known as Chowk Bazaar for shopping or full fill of curio collection hobby. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4:    Drive Darjeeling – Yuksom (123kms/ 5 hrs)
After breakfast, we will drive to Yuksom. The base of our trek. Visit Tashi Namgyel Stone & Dubdi Monastery by walking. Temi Tea Garden, Samdruptse, Ralang Monastery, Borong Monastery & Chardham. Dinner and overnight stay in a Tent or hotel.

Day 5:    Drive Yuksom (1785mts/ 5854ft) – Tsokh (3000mts/ 9840ft) (14kms/ 5-6hrs)
The trail from Yuksom starts at the local market and follows the main road towards the north. The trail climbs gently out of the valley and hugs the right bank of the Ratong Chu River, which can be heard thundering through the gorge below. The trail crosses over four bridges to climb steeply towards north-west to the small settlement of Bakhim. Continue for another 3kms through the forest of magnolia and rhododendron to reach Tshokh. On arrival set campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6:    Tsokh – Dzongri (4030mts/ 13218ft) (10kms/ 5-6hrs)
On this day the trail passes through the village of Tshokh and continues to climb north through the forest of rhododendron to the alp of Phidang (3650 m) taking around 3 hrs to complete the ascent. Continue further towards Dzongri. On arrival set campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7:    Rest day & Acclimatize at Dzongri
The day is for rest and acclimatization. On this day one can savor views of the mountain peaks by climbing up to Dzongri Top. From here you get a panoramic view of Kabru (7353 m), Ratong (6678 m), Kanchenjunga (8534 m), Koktang (6147 m), Pandim (6691 m) and Narsing (5825 m). Towards the west, the Singalila Ridge, which separates Sikkim from Nepal, can be seen. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 8:    Dzongri – Tshokh (10kms/ 4-5hrs)
Start retracing steps descending towards Tsokha by going through a bypass route directly to Tsokha. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 9:    Tshokh – Yuksom (14kms/ 5-6hrs) – Darjeeling (123kms/ 6hrs)
Retrace steps towards Yuksom on the final day of the trek. The going is easier as the path is mainly downhill. From here drive to Darjeeling. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 10:    Drive Darjeeling – Bagdogra (123kms / 4hrs)  |  Flight Bagdogra – Delhi 
Early morning drive to Bagdogra and take flight for Delhi. on arrival at Delhi transfer to international airport to catch onward flight.
 

Inclusions

  • Accommodation on Single / Twin / Double sharing basis in offered hotels or similar
  • While on trek we will provide Dome/Alpine trekking tents, mattresses, kitchen tent, etc would be provided
  • Daily breakfast at the hotel. While on trek all meals included
  • All transfers and excursions will be covered by the non-air-conditioned vehicle
  • Yaks/Porters: For carrying camping equipment, rations, vegetables
  • Professional local trekking guide and kitchen staff would accompany the group 
  • Entry fee and Inner Line Permit (ILP) etc 
  • Trekking permit fees. 
  • Currently applicable taxes.

  • Camera charges at any monument to be paid by the guest directly
  • Any airfare international/ domestic
  • Any insurance
  • Lunch or Dinner unless supplement for the same has opted.
  • Expenses of personal nature like liquor, laundry, tips, telephone, fax, internet, etc.
